Bei dieser Angabe handelt es sich um den Durchmesser deines Objektives, den du zum Beispiel zum Kauf verschiedener Filter (Polarisationsfilter, Graufilter, etc.) wissen solltest. Denn diese gibt es in unterschiedlichen Größen und nicht alle passen auf jedes Objektiv. Außerdem weisst du so auch, welches Ersatzteil du besorgen musst, solltest du deinen Objektivdeckel einmal verloren haben.

Objektiv BedeutungMedizin

Die Zahl bzw. Zahlen auf dem Objektiv mit einer Millimeter-Angabe dahinter zeigen dir den Brennweitenbereich deines Objektivs an. Stehen dort mehrere Zahlen, also z.B. 24-70mm oder 18-55mm, handelt es sich um ein Zoom-Objektiv. Steht dagegen nur eine Zahl auf deinem Objektiv, z.B. 50mm oder 85mm, handelt es sich um eine Festbrennweite. Den Unterschied zwischen Zoom-Objektiv und Festbrennweite habe ich dir bereits in einem anderen Artikel zusammengefasst.

Die Bezeichnung USM sagt dir, dass der Autofokus des Objektives mit einem Ultraschall-Motor (USM) funktioniert. Er wandelt die Energie von Ultraschall-Vibrationen in Drehkraft um, die dann letztendlich dein Objektiv bewegt.

Die Bezeichnung »Macro« – auf manchen Objektiven auch mit einem Blumen-Symbol dargestellt – und die entsprechende Zahl dahinter zeigt dir die Naheinstellgrenze deines Objektives an. Sie sagt dir also, wie nah du mit deiner Kamera bzw. dem Objektiv an dein Motiv herangehen kannst so dass dieses trotzdem noch scharf gestellt werden kann. Würdest du dich näher als der dort angegebene Abstand auf dein Motiv zubewegen (in meinem konkreten Fall näher als 0,38 Meter), könnte dein Objektiv dieses nicht mehr fokussieren, bzw. scharf stellen. Easy, oder?

ObjektivbetrachtetBedeutung

Die Bedeutung dieser Worte (von denen nur eines auf dem Objektiv stehen wird) sollte zwar eigentlich klar sein, der Vollständigkeit wegen nehme ich sie aber dennoch in diesen Beitrag mit auf. Sie zeigen dir nämlich den Hersteller des Objektives an.

IS steht für »Image Stabilizer«. Ist diese Abkürzung auf deinem Objektiv vermerkt, heisst dies also dass dein Objektiv einen Bildstabilisator besitzt. So ein Stabilisator ist super praktisch.

Da ich persönlich ausschließlich mit Canon Kameras und Canon Objektiven fotografiere, erkläre ich dir alle weiteren Zahlen und Bezeichnungen ganz praktisch an zwei meinen Canon Objektive. Sie haben aber auch bei den anderen Herstellern die gleiche Bedeutung. Los geht es mit dem eingangs bereits erwähnten CANON EF 24-70mm 1:2.8.

In diesem Beitrag schauen wir uns deshalb die Bezeichnungen, Abkürzungen und Zahlen auf dem Objektiv an und gehen ihre Bedeutung Stück für Stück durch. Du brauchst dafür auch garantiert kein Diplom in Weltraumtechnik. Versprochen.

AF steht für »Autofokus«, MF für »Manueller Fokus«. Bei Objektiven, die einen Schalter zwischen diesen beiden Modi haben hast du also die Wahl: Möchtest du den automatischen Fokus verwenden oder dein Motiv mit dem manuellen Fokus-Modus scharf stellen.

EF bedeutet »Electro-Focus«. Diese Bezeichnung findest du auf Canon Objektiven, die eine Autofokus Funktion haben bzw. unterstützen und für Vollformat-Kameras bestimmt sind. Objektive mit Autofokus Funktion für Crop Sensor Kameras haben die Bezeichnung EF-S. Ein EF-S Objektiv passt ohne einen Adapter z.B. nicht auf eine Vollformat-Kamera. Die Zeichnung gibt dir also einen Hinweis, ob das Objektiv auf deine Kamera passt oder nicht.

Bestimmt hast du dich auch schon einmal gefragt, was die ganzen Abkürzungen und Zahlen auf dem Objektiv eigentlich bedeuten. Ich sage nur: »CANON EF 24-70mm 1:2.8 Ø77mm USM AF MF MACRO 0.38m/1.3ft«! Was auf den ersten Blick ausschaut wie eine komplizierte Formel russischer Raketenwissenschaftler ist eigentlich gar nicht mal so kompliziert. Die Zahlen und Abkürzungen verraten dir nämlich eine ganze Menge nützliche Informationen zu deinem Objektiv, seinen Eigenschaften und den besten Einsatzgebiete. Vor allem beim Kauf eines Objektives können diese Angaben unheimlich hilfreich sein.

Die folgenden Abkürzungen und Bezeichnungen spielen für die Qualität deiner Foodfotos erst einmal keine Rolle. Es ist aber dennoch sehr praktisch, ihre Bedeutung zu kennen. Vor allem, wenn es um den Kauf eines Objektives, einer Kamera oder anderes Zubehör geht. Denn dieses sollte natürlich auch zu deinem vorhandenen Equipment passen.

Diese Zahlen sagen dir, wie weit sich die Blende deines Objektives öffnen lässt. Umso kleiner die Zahl, desto größer ist die Blendenöffnung und umso mehr Licht kommt durch die Blende auf den Sensor deiner Kamera. Objektive mit einer besonders kleinen Zahl, also 2.8, 1.8 oder 1.4, gelten als besonders lichtstark, da sie viel Licht einfangen können. Mit diesen Objektiven kommst du dann zum Beispiel auch bei schlechteren Lichtverhältnissen gut zurecht und sie verschaffen deinen Fotos ein besonders schönes Bokeh. Leider werden Objektive mit zunehmender Lichtstärke dann auch immer teurer.
