It's unique design makes it a very robust unit. The Lense is very tough poly carbonate which big brands such as Lightforce use, so if it is thrown around your boat in rough weather or your 4WD driving in bumpy territory - it wont break!

Here's another benefit. Most Halgen type spot lights will draw 10 to 15 Amps at 12V from your battery. This will pull under 5 AMPS!!! So less strain on your alternator, your wiring, your battery and electrical system!

VALUE This Marine WIRELESS REMOTE CONTROL HID SPOT light offers the best quality, design and light output for the price on the market today.  The unit offers an exceptionally high quality HID bulb in a very tough housing. Only $699 AUD

Being HID, they are ROBUST. The High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamp uses electrodes to ignite gas, and contains no filament to break due to vibration etc. HID based lights can sustain much higher levels of vibration and shock than a Halogen type globe.

We found that there are HID products which are very expensive and then there are much lower cost products out there as well. From our research there is a difference in quality and design which not only impacts failure rates and the general life of the product but also in the amount of light and quality of light. The design of the reflectors amongst other things all impact the outcome.

94% of all HID xenon users have a positive opinion of xenon light, the main features mentioned were brightness (42 %) and general illumination (35 %). 85% of all HID xenon users feel they could see better at night with the age-group over 50 this figure even rose to 90 % 83% of all HID xenon users would order their next car with xenon light again. 80% of all HID xenon users feel they can see better in the rain using xenon light. 75% of all HID xenon users state that the wider illumination of the road creates more safety for cyclists and pedestrians. 64% of all HID xenon users consider xenon light to be so good that it should be made standard for all vehicles. 61% of all HID xenon users feel safer with xenon light.

Here's another benefit. Most Halgen type spot lights will draw 10 to 15 Amps at 12V from your battery. This will draw 3.5 AMPS!!! So less strain on your alternator, your wiring, your battery and electrical system! Less concern for voltage drop - so those long wire runs from the batteries in the back of the boat all the way to the front of the boat can be 1/3rd of the size of that required to properly power a Halogen Spotlight.

We have found a number of unique HID products that are ideal for the marine and 4x4 /offroad market which are also extremely well priced and of high quality whilst still giving very good value for money.

We are the only HID Product like this in the market that we know of that offers a TWO YEAR FULL REPLACEMENT WARRANTY EVEN ON THE GLOBE!

It is powered by a ballast built into the light. Most HID Lights require a balast that is a box that is external to the unit.

HID Xenon technology provides four times the light per watt compared to halogen. This Spotlight is 50 Watts of HID. To give you an idea - car Halogen Lights are generaly 65 Watts each which outputs about 700 (+/- 100) lumens, HID Headlights are generaly 35 Watts each which outputs about 2700 (+/- 200) Lumens of light. 50 Watt HID is around 4500 (+/- 400) Lumens of light!!!! Halogen Spotlights simply DO NOT COMPARE!

High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting technology replaces the filament of the light bulb with a capsule of gas. The light is emitted from an arc discharge between two closely spaced electrodes hermetically sealed inside a small quartz glass tubular envelope capsule. To operate, they require ballasts, which supply proper voltage and control current. The amount of light produced is greater than a standard halogen bulb, while consuming less power, and more closely approximating the colour temperature of natural daylight.

Once with HID, always with HID. In 1997, the renowned opinion research institute Emnid carried out a survey among drivers whose vehicles were equipped with HID xenon light. The results of this survey speak for themselves: 94% of all HID xenon users have a positive opinion of xenon light, the main features mentioned were brightness (42 %) and general illumination (35 %).

Lenses are measured in focal lengths. Focal lengths, which are measured in millimeters, designate the angle of view of the lens. Focal lengths less than 50mm are considered "wide angle;" a focal length of 50mm is considered "normal;" and focal lengths over 50mm are considered "telephoto." Zoom lenses can be adjusted to many angles of view covering a variety of focal lengths. These images were taken with a "full frame" Nikon camera.

If you want a powerful hand held light that draws very little current whilst leaving the best halogen hand held spotlights on the market for dead then look no further!

Like our Marine Hand Held HID light, this one is also powered by a ballast built into the light. Most HID Lights require a balast that is a box that is external to the unit. There is no need to find and mount a separate ballast component.  This reduces installation time and precious space in a boat.

At Full Wave Marine, we have been researching, trialing and testing HID (High Intensity Discharge) products for the last 12 months. We have partnered with a company who has been specialising in HID lighting in Australia since 2004.
