Lineardisplacement transducer

The position measurement is available as digital data in the calibration units – via a RS485 connection with a Modbus, or CANopen protocol – or as an analog signal (voltage or current).

It is possible to measure linear displacements, using a magnetic ring cursor, or fluid level, by means of a magnetic float.

It is possible with the digital connection, to customize the unit with a linearization table in order to convert the measurement of the float position in volume, whenever the transducer is immersed in irregularly shaped tanks, or it is possible to activate a filtering function that minimizes the effect of possible waves on the measurement.

LinearTransducer diagram

The transducer is supplied already calibrated as per the order, but can be customized by means of the digital connection by accessing the internal data structure in order to adapt the operation to the application – for example, in order to align the analog signal end references with the level variation range involved, or to reverse the unit’s direction of measurement with respect to the built-in measuring head. It is also possible to obtain the position/level measurements with centesimal resolution, with the digital connection, in addition to knowing the diagnostic situation.

There is a dead zone on the measuring probe near the tip of 55 mm – for measurement purposes – as per the design. Normally this area is comprised within the float (AFC models 2S, 4S, 6S, 10S or 12S), and should be taken into account when using the AFC-8S float. It is possible upon request to provide the measuring probe of the transducer with a restraint system of the float that avoids removal. This can be an accessory that is added to the outside of the standard probe (height 9 mm) or can be integrated into the tip of the measuring probe, increasing its length by 10 mm.

The transducers of the PCR III series are CE marked, they have passed EMC tests and are also available in an explosion-proof case.

from 18 to 30 Vdc (±15%), with protection of polarity inversion (diodes and protection fuse)

FlashingBlinkyLights (FBL) has been selling quality LED products since 2001. FBL is located in Sun Valley, California, in the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles area.

The level transducers of the PCR III series are rugged, accurate, without mechanical wear between the measuring probe and the float, they are resistant to shock and vibrations and are equipped with protection against hostile environments.

A software tool for Windows ® is available for carrying out simple measurement functions, to customize the analog output, to enter the characterization points of the linearization table or to view the diagnostic status of the unit.

The new transducers of the PCR III series for measuring displacement or level are rugged, accurate, without any mechanical wear among the parts, resistant to blows and vibrations and equipped with protection against hostile environments

They are absolute measure transducers – of a magnetostrictive type – with measuring ranges from 100 to 3,000 mm, which measure the position of the magnetic cursor compared to the probe in a fluid digitally and continuously with no friction or wear between the parts.
