Floodlight camera

Perhaps someone can explain the logic behind them? Motion activated flood lights have been around for >30 years. They are cheap, and a good one will last a VERY long time. Some even come with replaceable bulbs. Why are people buying ring cameras with built in flood lights and just not putting a motion flood over the camera?

And that ring cam is only 1080, so you know when 4k or 8k comes out you are going to want it, again paying a premium for the flood lights.. An LED light goes out? Replace the entire thing. So why are people paying a premium for this stuff when the camera is just going to get replaced in <10 years?
