The VELUX flexible sun tunnels and rigid sun tunnels provide installation flexibility. Flexible tunnels can be used when the angle between the roof and the ceiling is too small for a rigid tunnel. Rigid tunnels deliver a straight shaft of light for when the ceiling is placed directly under the exterior window. We use various polarizer materials to cover wavelengths between 320 and 2000 nm. Both visible and near-infrared polarizers are supplied with a high-efficiency, broadband antireflection (AR) coating; single‐layer AR coatings are optional on our ultraviolet polarizers.

VELUX windows

Sun tunnels (also known as sun tubes, sun pipes, sky tubes, solar light tubes and light tunnels) are designed to provide natural light into corridors, stairwells, bathrooms and cupboards, under pitched and flat roofs, where installation of a roof window is not possible. Sun tunnels are also energy saving as there is no need to switch lights on during the day.

Meadowlark Optics manufactures Precision Linear Polarizers using dichroic sheet polarizer material laminated between high-quality glass substrates (BK 7 material, λ/10 flat). For visible wavelength polarizers, this construction produces a total transmitted wavefront distortion of less than λ/5.
