The phenomenon of the transmission of light occurs only when the light hits an object which is made up of a transparent or translucent material, and light is able to pass all the way through it. We can also understand this by taking an example of a glass. So glass is made up of a transparent or translucent material. Thus, when the light falls on its surface, it does not get reflected back or get absorbed. Rather it gets transmitted through it. But if we paint one side of a glass with an opaque colour then this material would not be able to transmit the light. One side of the glass is opaque rather than translucent or transparent. Absorption of light is a phenomenon in which the light gets absorbed by the surface of the object on which it is falling. Rather than getting transmitted or reflected, it gets absorbed. This only happens when the object is made up of very dense material or is of opaque colour. In this, the absorbed light gets converted into energy. We can take an example of the process of photosynthesis in which the light that falls on the leaves gets absorbed by it and gets converted into a form of energy, which is later on utilised by the plants to make their food by using that source of energy.

Colour mainly comes from the sunlight as the sunlight consists of all the colours. It can only be seen by us as it gets transmitted to the Earth and only becomes visible because of its reflection. Meanwhile, the specific colour acquired by different objects is due to the fact that all the sunlight is absorbed by all the things but the colour of the visible spectrum of the sunlight which does not get absorbed gets reflected back. That is when our eyes perceive the colour of that object. For example, sunlight falls on an apple, and all the colours falling on it get absorbed except the colour red. Red colour then gets reflected and is perceived by our eyes that the colour of an apple is red. The image given below also depicts the formation of colour for an object.

Our fiber optic is sold by the foot, 0.75 cents per foot. Choose your size and add the number of Feet you need to cart.  We measure by the foot but we sell in whole pieces, so for example if you get 3 feet or 6 feet you will get a full sized piece it will not be cut.
