The laser will last hundreds of button holds, as long as you dont hold the button down for more then 6 seconds. The diode needs to cool off for a couple seconds, so please prolong the life of your laser and dont hold the button down for long periods. We are upgrading our packaging, but for now, the laser comes without a case. Just the 2 halves of the laser itself in bubble-wrap and the info sheet. Ours are true 5mw, meaning the beam is significantly brighter in comparrison to most 532nm (Green) laser pointers.
