Thanks to new technologies from SICK, TranspaTect MultiTask photoelectric sensors are now able to detect transparent and semitransparent trays and bottles without the need for reflectors, a frequent source of errors. In these applications, the reference surface is provided by a stable matte background. Sensitivity is taught in simply by pressing the teach-in button. Even high-gloss, reflective, or uneven surfaces can be detected reliably. Combined with AutoAdapt, SICK's function for continuous threshold adaptation, TranspaTect sensors provide a cost-effective and reliable detection solution in packaging processes in the food and beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.

SICK Incremental Encoders generate information about position, angle and rotation counts. The resolution is defined in the number of lines or pulses per rotation, which the encoder transmits to the control unit for each rotation. The current position can be determined by the control unit by counting these pulses.

SICK’s flexible, compact and reliable Absolute Encoders generate information about position, angle and rotation counts in type-specific angle steps. For this, a unique code pattern is assigned to each angle increment. The number of code patterns available per revolution determines the resolution. Each code pattern forms a unique reference, and is therefore an absolute position.

The variety of tasks in automated production processes today, such as in packaging and printing machines, require sensors with the highest performance standards. Typical applications are the detection of visible and non-visible marks, labels and colors at high speeds as well as the detection of small parts and precise positioning.

The slim, forked shape of the WFS sensor has been specially developed for the requirements of the labeling process. The design allows the sensor to be mounted directly on the edge of a label dispenser. Difficulty in detecting the label gap is finally eliminated - the sensor's switching threshold can be taught-in while the label strip is running. This sophisticated operating concept means the sensor can be adjusted to different labels quickly, easily, and reliably. The fast response time guarantees exceptional repeat accuracy.

The W27 MultiPac sensor provides an economical option for detection of shiny, glossy, or dark targets within its foreground. It uses two redundant receiver arrays to ensure continuous detection of difficult targets such as bundled clear PET bottles. The sensing range is adjustable up to 500 mm using a simple teach button. All of this is found within a single, compact housing that virtually eliminates the need for any traditional mechanical detection method.

SICK is an innovation leader on the vanguard of developing cutting-edge sensor technology. SICK is one of the world's leading manufacturers of vision systemsand automation components for industrial applications. SICK is a leader in new product innovations, and offers solutions for a variety of industries.

The safeRS safe radar sensor is an electro-sensitive protective device for safe personal detection with very high machine productivity. It protects stationary applications in accordance with PL d or SIL 2 in line with ISO 13849-1 and IEC 62061. The radar system consists of an evaluation unit and up to 6 sensors which enable switchover to a protected mode as soon as a person enters the protected area. The high resistance to dirt, dust clouds, wood chips, plastic particles and sparks as well as the insensitivity to ambient light such as solar radiation or infrared waves enables reliable operation, even under the toughest ambient conditions. The safeRS stands out due to its rugged sensor housing and quick and easy commissioning.

The DT50-2 Pro offers a new range of possibilities for distance measurement, including 10 m on black targets and 30 m on white, repeatability of 0.5 mm, 3,000 measurements per second, wide range of operating temperatures (-40°C to 65°C), and IP 67 rating.
