Planning permission or other building permits are generally not required to build a Hypedome for individual purposes. Hypedome’s limited footprint, lack of permanent foundation, height below 2.5m (< 8.2 ft) and the overall design that blends with the surroundings, usually qualify it as a temporary structure, not requiring planning permission.

The construction of the door goes beyond the dome, maximising the space inside and additionally allows you to connect the domes.

Just to provide feedback from our recent purchase. We bought the mini dome, delivery was good, reasonable instructions provided but I would feedback that it definitely will take more than six full hours to build. My husband and brother-in-law (both a vast experience of various trades/build) took two full days. They would suggest you in future pre drill the door holes to assist. Once built, it is a sold structure, looks like a decent quality and we can’t wait until better weather to use. We are pleased with our purchase. See our photo

I’m lucky to be able to work from home, so on occasions I take my laptop to the dome as we have had power fitted in there. It’s just nice to be surrounded by lovely plants. We can have them here because of the microclimate created under the dome’s shell. There’s a real collection of bougainvillaeas, bananas, and even some touches of citrus in there. Through bolts can be used for anchoring to concrete, sandstone and other hard surfaces. For setting it up on a patio with stone slabbing or another type of hard surface, it’s also possible to weigh the dome down. This is recommended if you wish to avoid drilling holes in the hard surface. (Ballasting is not available for Hypedome M, for this size we recommend all other types of anchoring.)

Yes, we offer our bespoke Insulated Modular Base as an add-on option. It’s the easiest way to create a solid, weather-proof base for your Hypedome, however many of our customers build their own wooden or composite deckings. Get in touch with us to get examples of customer-built decks.

Hypedome Mini can be a perfect indoor-outdoor space for a couple. It’s best suited for 2 – 4 people seated on sofas and armchairs.

Yes, Hypedome can be easily dismantled, stored in provided boxes and built again in the future. We recommend cleaning the dome and letting it dry before dismantling it. And it’s worth to know that Hypedomes can stay up all year round for many years – there’s usually no need to take them down.

Assembly of the Hypedome S requires two people and takes 4 hours to complete. All tools and manuals required for assembly are provided together with the kit. You will need a 1.5m tall ladder during the assembly and dismantle.

Hypedomes are engineered to withstand extreme weather conditions, including violent winds, heavy snowfalls, torrential rains and long-term sun exposure. They work in all temperature ranges and can be built in spaces exposed to strong sustained winds, as long as they are properly anchored to the ground (we offer multiple ways of anchoring the dome).

We can enjoy our beautiful view in winter. Today it was 17F (-8C) out but inside the dome reads 61 (17C) absolutely loving it!
