VDI offers up-converter modules for communication applications. The double sideband nature of the up-converter modules makes filtering necessary. VDI has designed filters to filter one sideband and preserve signal modulation. These filters offer low passband insertion loss and high out-of-band rejection. Custom filters may be available upon request. NRE (non-recurring engineering) fee may be required.

I am posting this as things look to still be a bit silly when it comes to getting joysticks etc.  I think it would be a last resort if you already have one or can get a good used one cheap? Perhaps there is no budget for even a cheap stick?
