The CCD camera detects strip edges by detecting changes in the intensity of light from a light source. The point where the light intensity changes (minimum or maximum value) is considered a strip edge, and this information is immediately sent to the controller to be quantified and processed as digital data. The data is transmitted from the controller through a digital fieldbus connection.

This camera sensor utilizes a line sensor, which is more advantageous than an area sensor in terms of a pixel count in the horizontal direction. The high-end camera digitally processes images and detects precise positions as a digital camera for detecting strip edges/center positions.
