This course is required for Contractors installing ADA Pedestrian Ramps and all individuals that inspect ADA Pedestrian Ramps. The intent of this training is the evaluation of newly installed Pedestrian Access Ramps.

ADA Ped Ramp will be held virtually. A Zoom account is required to attend. A registration link will be emailed to all enrolled participants 3 days prior to the scheduled meeting. You will also need a computer with both a microphone and camera for participation. Do not share the zoom meeting link.

The staff working on Siksika’s fire & rescue crew are all National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) certified at levels 1001, 1072, and 1021, and pursue ongoing training, for example in level 1033: Fire Investigation Skills, in-house training, and other training opportunities. The NFPA certifications are recognized throughout North America and internationally, as applicable.

When not responding to emergency calls, Siksika Nation Fire & Rescue conducts school tours, public fire education sessions, and car seat safety sessions. The Siksika Nation Fire & Rescue crew is a staple at public events throughout Siksika; you will see them cooking breakfasts or lunches.

Oki! Siksika Fire & Rescue was established on Siksika Nation in 2000, when Siksika Health Services received the program from Siksika Public Works. Prior to 2000, Siksika’s fire response was conducted by volunteers within the Siksika Public Works department who had done this for many years.

Siksika Nation Fire & Rescue responds to all types of emergency situations, including structure and grass/wildland fires, motor vehicle accidents, search and rescue situations on both land and water, and medical assistance to back up Siksika EMS (accounts for 76% of call volume on an annual basis). Siksika Nation Fire & Rescue has agreements in place with the Counties of Vulcan and Wheatland in assisting one another in the event of large-scale events.
