Bought the short D handle version a little over a year ago. Unfortunately the fiberglass shaft split not long enough using it and finally the handle has fully pulled off of the shovel. This shovel has a lot going for it with the heavy gauge steel, toothed edge and extended steel shaft that comes up over half the shovel length, but unfortunately it hasn’t lasted long enough to justify the price. I would love to see a new design with a full steel shaft.

Bowers Crane Service Purchased the short D-handle version. Like how you can pry on the handle without worry of it breaking. The teeth on the spade really help get into the mud/clay. Have never had a shovel built this well. Nice work Bully Tools.

The 2′ steel covered fiberglass handle doesn’t flex no matter how much weight you throw at it. I don’t have to baby if for fear of breaking it like other shovels. I definitely work faster with this shovel.

I bought the long handle version to clean the tracks of my feller buncher in hopes of the longer handle would help. I like the design, I really wish I went with the short D handle version as that’s what I’m use to. Unfortunately I used the long handle style 3 times and the handle now has a 4 inch vertical crack in it. I liked how it was built but I’ve been cleaning my tracks with a wooden short handled drain spade from home Depot for 5 years now and I haven’t broke it yet. I was hoping for the price it would have held up a lot longer.

The blade on this is super thick and heavy, the extra weight at the working end helps if the mud has hardened. I’d hate the get on the bad side of someone that is strong enough to break this handle.
