Council’s customer service centres will close at 12:00 PM on Tuesday 24 December 2024. Normal business hours will resume at 8:30 AM on Thursday 2 January 2025.You can contact Council during the closure by calling (07) 3205 0555.
If you require further information regarding signs, want to request the installation of new signs or report signs that require repair or replacement due to damage or theft, contact Council.

Council will charge a $2.50 fee for all paper rates notices issued from January 2025. Ratepayers who receive their rates notice electronically, or who receive a pensioner rebate or self-funded retiree rebate, will be exempt.
New street name signs are installed by the developer of an estate. After a period of time, Council takes over maintenance and is responsible for repair and/or replacement of street name signs and poles. Council will investigate requests for additional street name signs where it is considered that existing signage is inadequate.
Note: The assessment of these sign applications is strictly controlled. Please ensure you read and understand eligibility, particularly in relation to the location of the facility or club. Existing signs that do not comply with the current standards may be removed or may not be replaced at the end of their life cycle.
Directional (or fingerboard) signs are signs with a blue background and white text. These signs are not for private companies or facilities, see advertising signs for further information.
To request a directional sign, applicant must complete the Community/Voluntary organisation directional sign application(PDF, 148KB) and return to Council for assessment.
